From the research information that is available to us it appears that there were ten shareholders/directors. The number of shareholders increased from 10 to twenty between the years of 1946 to 1956. Records indicate that five of the original shareholders “retired” and in their place fifteen were initiated.

Between the 1946 start up date to 1956 John Henley – Agassiz – Rosedale ferry captain, Peter Jespersen – Chilliwack dairy farmer, Dr. McCaffrey – Chilliwack doctor was a member, Jim Wilson and Andrew Wilson were shareholders of the Hole in the Wall. Claude Worthington – Sardis farmer, Gladstone Wilkinson, William Fitch, Ed Dumville – Chilliwack farmer were also shareholders. Clair Lemax ( inaugural first vice president) – a Vancouver businessman and Joseph Dorgan ( inaugural first secretary)- a New Westminster Real Estate broker, both seemed to have resigned as shareholders between 1946 an 1955.

This is the Agassiz-Rosedale Ferry, captained by John Henley, an early director

The ferry boat, Eena, worked on the Fraser River from 1928-1956. Eric Atkins, who ran a bus service to the ferry in the 1930s and 1940s recounts that many times his bus would pull up to the ferry landing only to see the Eena pulling away, leaving the bus passengers sitting waiting an hour for the next ferry. He states, “We got so disgusted with it, we finally went after a bridge.” (F223)
